Oh dear, what a dreary day its turned out to be. It`s been overcast all morning and as I sit here slumped over my keyboard I can see rain drops on the windows.....welcome to winter! Its been what I call a `flat` day, the sort of day when nothing of note happens...except of course the arrival of the parcel containing my new coat....hurrah! It does fit and is now hanging up in my bedroom. I also ordered some maternity jeans for Kerry. We are the same size clothes so I tried them on...(they were a bit big around the waist...lol!) They fit me so they should fit her, I just hope she likes them.
I have some photos of Danny when he was in Rome, he certainly did some sight-seeing but I have little idea of the places in the photos apart from the Coliseum which is recognizable to just about everyone.
My little boy! :o)
I didn`t realise the Coliseum was so big.
The Coliseum from the outside
Dan had a wonderful time there and even visited the Vatican City. He said it was amazing. Beautiful and very peaceful. He isn`t at all religious but he said it had a certain `feel` to the whole place. He visited the famous Trevi fountain but the two photos he took where very blurry...typical man! Apart from the Coliseum he must have visited just about every tourist attraction in Rome but as he hasn`t told me which ones they were and as I can`t read Latin I`ll have to save them for another day. You can see however that the weather was beautiful and very, very hot...AND for good measure while he was there it poured with rain for the whole five days....how dare he come home with a suntan...lol!
Kerry had an appointment with her midwife this afternoon. Everything is as it should be apart from her due date. By all accounts she was originally told March 31st but has now been told April 7th. Never mind, the baby will be born when he/she is ready despite any `official` date. The latest names for a boy are George Alexander. They are the only boys names that Kerry and Slava are both agreed on. As far as girls names are concerned, Kerry now says Louisa and Slava is staying very quiet on the matter. Oh well, they have four and a half months to decide, change their minds, then make them up again a dozen times over...lol!
Roman is being rather difficult just lately. He won`t go to bed, when he does he gets up in the night and won`t go back again. He`s become very cheeky to Kerry if he doesn`t get his own way. Kerry spoke to her midwife about him and she thinks it might be because of the baby. Apparently it`s quite common for a young child to act this way when Mummy is pregnant. I just hope he settles down as Kerry is so tired at the moment and is suffering from sciatica. She certainly appreciates the time she has to herself when he is at nursery.
No rain here Sandra but no doubt it will come, it has been very dark and very windy. I am glad that your new coat fits. Great pictures of Dan. I can see so much of you in him. Love the places as well. As you say, the baby will be born when ready. Louisa was my great-grandmother's name and she was a person that everyone adored. I wish I had known her.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I ordered has not turned up and it does not like it will be here for you know when. I am mad because I did not want to send it through the post.
Very cool!!! I would love to go Rome. Thanks for sharing the pics.
ReplyDeleteRome is just gorgeous. My youngest has been to France twice but had to pass on Italy due to finances.
ReplyDeleteLOL..my oldest daughter, Becky, was due on April 8th but made her way into the world on March 31st; just the opposite of your Kerry's date. Roman will come around. They just get so confused about the whole thing and only know their mums attention is not totally on them.
Hope the drears clear up. We have sun here but it is cold. xx
Enjoyed the Rome pics. I guess Dan had a great time there. I guess it is the first pic of Dan I've seen in your journal. There may have been others that I missed if not reading that day. lol
ReplyDeleteYes they probably will change the name a few times as they think of different ones. Very exciting. Roman can be told that he will always be his Mom's baby. And his Grandmom's too. No need to worry there.

Lord Torn Socks! tut tut poor Mummy ..love Jan xx
ReplyDeleteI expect Roman feels his nose is going to be put out of joint with a baby to contend with, especially as he'd rather have a dog! Lol! It's raining hee too and blowing a gale! Yuk, winter! The photos are lovely, oh to be somewhere hot again! Jeannette xx http://jeannettesnewtravels.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteHi! Sandra Thanks for your recent comment on AOL,and thanks for the Invite.... I have set up an account with Blogger, but no entries as yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm way behind with my recent holiday, and chaos here as Allan is in the middle of re-emulsioning the Lounge.
Glorious Sunshine, but windy most of the Day, then the rain poured after my washing was out :>(
Aileen....X
Forgot to say, we were in Italy some years ago now....and it ranks among our favourite places....long to go again, but health prevents me.

Such a handsome young man, your son. I think Roman will be ok, it is hard for him to understand what is happening, especially as he would prefer a dog! I think he is looking for a reaction from his mummy and any reaction will do. Maybe he just feels a little left out of their "happiness" at the moment. We adults don't always see the same picture as the little ones. Eileen x
ReplyDeleteGlad Dan had such a nice time.... its good your coat fit and is safe and sound in your room.... I would to find one yet
ReplyDeleteSandra
Hi, Sandra!
ReplyDeleteOh, I loved the pictures of Rome. Took me back to my visit in April. Your son is very handsome! Does he need a stick to keep the women at bay? LOL
I'm so glad Kerry's pregnancy is going well although I wish she didn't have back trouble. That makes things so hard.
I'm sure Roman will come around. He's at the age where they push the boundaries. He's hearing about a new baby but can't see it or experience what that's going to be like. He's probably a bit nervous about having some competition. I heard once that the first child never quite gets over the fact that his/her parents ever wanted another child but them. As the first born, I can see that. LOL
Take care!
Kathy

Hi Sandra, Thanks for sharing the photos of Rome. Although I come from the North of Italy, Rome is my heart and soul and whenever I see a glimpse of the "eternal city". I thought my son would have been totally upset when his sister was born, but instead I will never forget his radiant face the first time he saw her in hospital in my arms. Everything will fine fine, you'll see. Have a nice day. Ciao. Antonella
ReplyDeleteCould that beautiful ceiling be in the Sistine Chapel, do you think? Still, I suppose Rome is full of beautiful ceilings!
ReplyDeleteOur Kate's new baby was born 12/10 - much nearer to her own date (10th) than midwife's (7th). They ought to listen to mums sometimes. After all, they were THERE weren't they!! oooh naughty naughty!
Beautiful day up here but windy and v cold.
love, Angie, xxx
MY OH MY, Danny is a hunk. :))
ReplyDeleteyou have excellent taste in clothes so i am sure Kerry will look great in her new pants. I hope sweet Roman soon is his sunny self soon. XOXO
well sandra i keep trying to follow you but for some reason it just wont let me.
ReplyDeleteshay.
Oh my where have I been! I somehow missed that another grandbaby is on the way! Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteI envy Dan those sights in Rome, what a beautiful place. It does sound like Roman is on the jealous side with the baby coming. Babies have a mind of their own when they will arrive. Skye was wrong side up, backwards and refused to come. I was almost 3 weeks beyond my due date at that time. (Hugs)Indigo
