Oh dear, I had a bit of an upset today. Kerry collapsed at work and was sent home. I didn`t find out until this afternoon when I rang HER..wasn`t she even going to tell me? I know she didn`t want to worry me but I wasn`t at all happy when she said she hadn`t even seen her doctor. "It`s okay Mum, it was just that I felt a bit hot." I told her to make a doctors appointment at once and she did, bless her. When she got back she told me that the Doctor has signed her off work with an accompanying letter to say that she`s suffering from exhaustion and needs several days rest. Good...she does far too much and has too little rest. I know its not easy with having a long drive to work and back, getting up at 4am and dealing with three and a half year old Roman and his boundless energy. I`ll be glad when she finishes work and starts her maternity leave at the end of this month. I digress, the doctor said her blood pressure is normal, in fact everything is normal much to my relief...and hers and Slava`s too.
She told me that she felt ok driving to work but when she boarded the staff bus she started to feel hot and her head was swimming. She managed to shake it off but whilst walking to the office at work she felt `funny` again and everything went black. Apparently she fell backwards against another employee so she didn`t hurt herself. When she came round she saw all these concerned faces looking down at her. Her manager wanted to call the paramedics but she wouldn`t hear of it. After she`d rested for a while she was sent home with instructions to rest and not to come back until she felt better. She should have gone straight to the doctor...silly girl. Anyway, she`s alright and that`s the main thing.
Mind you, I just thought. I`d ordered my 34 yr old daughter to see a doctor ...and she obeyed without so much as a whimper. I wish it had been that easy when she was a teenager...lol! Night, Night. :o)
She may of had a blood pressure drop or a low sugar episode. Keep us posted. Praying that everything stays okay
ReplyDeleteFunny things do happen when your pregnant, glad to hear she is ok though.

ReplyDeletelove, Angie xx
I'm so glad she saw the doctor but you must have been scared out of your mind. I know both of you will be very thankful when this little one is born. At least her blood pressure is good. I'm keeping her in my prayers. xx
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you talked her into going to her doc and that everything is ok. Hugs, Helen
ReplyDeleteI understand that concern all too well ordering your adult child to the drs. and having them listen. I'm glad Kerry is ok now. With only a few weeks left I'm surprised she doesn't just remain at home for the remainder until the baby is born. It does sound like she is over doing it. (Hugs)Indigo
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how you felt....getting that call. You tell Kerry to follow doctors orders and we are sending her the best from Virginia...for her to rest and just await her little bundle of joy...and yours too. Hugs and love,
ReplyDeleteJoyce

ReplyDeleteI hope after a few days of rest she's feeling better. Will keep her in my prayers. ~~Kath~~
ReplyDeleteI can certainly understand your worries! I'm glad she got into the doctor right away. Now for her to get that much needed rest. I know when I collapsed recently it was due to low blood pressure. I'm not sure WHY that happened but it and I decided rest was in order.
ReplyDeletekeeping you and Kerry in my prayers.
Monica
Oh my goodness I have been gone for awhile and come back to this.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy she didn't give you any lip and went to the doctor.
She needs to worry about stuff like that in her condition. Things go crazy even if you THINK you are fine.
I'm so happy she will be resting.
I know that gave you a fright not only because of your daughter, but that precious cargo she is carrying.
Take care, Chrissie
hope shes better...rest will do her good! she sure has her hands full
ReplyDeleteOh dear, it must have been a real shock for you! Poor Kerry, these last weeks are the most difficult and she needs to rest as mush as possible, especially as she's got another child to look after. Does not matter how old she is, she will always be your baby! Have a nice weekend and try not to worry. Ciao. Antonella
ReplyDeletewhat a scare indeed...hopefully she'll be alright after a few days rest...

ReplyDeleteHi Sandra ,so pleased Kerry is alright ,what a worry for you ,it doesn't matter how old they are they are still your kids.....with love Jeanxx
ReplyDeleteThat would be tough...working full time and chasing a little guy around. My two kids are 9½ years apart so I didn't have that problem. It will be wonderful when she can stay home and wait for the new baby. Are you getting excited? Yup, I knew it! Linda in Washington
ReplyDeleteThat had to be a scare for all of you over Kerry. Fortunately an employee caught her, before she could have taken a hard fall. She needs to rest a lot more. I had physical therapy for my left hip yesterday and it feels much better. My x/ray shows some degenerative arthritis. However the therapist found a muscle that was very tight and used ultrasound therapy on it and the muscle is relaxing. I had not been getting much sleep, but am finally sleeping up to 8 hours, though it means sleeping into the morning. Now I am just taking tylenol and doing well. It is 40F right now but suppose to reach near 50 with possibility of a little rain. I missed about a week or so of walking because of my hip but have been walking for the last 4 days since I think the weather made a difference. Salty pulls with all his strenght on the leash until I wear him out. mark
ReplyDeleteBless Kerry's heart. She was probably scared to death and I know you probably were too. Why is it that our kids STILL have to be poked & prodded at this age? LOL When is she due again? I can't remember. I swear my memory is getting worse every day. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've read your past few entries. You guys sure have your fair share of bad weather. We sure need some moisture. It's been so dry here. Glad you found your new curtains and was able to find some nice things with your gift card. I could use some retail therapy myself. LOL
Hope you thaw out soon.
Luv n hugs, Barb
