Tuesday Twitterings

The weekend went by really quickly and here we are, Tuesday already. It`s election Day in America and it seems like there is a much bigger turn out this time than the last one. I turned the TV this afternoon when I got home and watched SKY news to see how it`s all going, I will continue to watch the race for the White house with interest.

Even though today is much milder than of late I`ve been feeling cold all day. I`ve been home since 1.30pm and I still can`t get warm, it must be the damp conditions rather than the temperature.

On Sunday morning after doing the ironing I took Jake for what was meant to be a quick walk. We were going to Kerry`s for dinner in the afternoon and and after Jim got home from work we would leave as soon as he was ready. Anyway, we walked to the field where we often go when we go outt locally. Jake seemed full of energy and I knew that a short run was out of the question. So after he`d run around the field about a million times...lol!...I decided a short walk along the country lanes would be a good idea. However, it was a dry day so I thought we`d just walk a little further, and further........and further and before I knew it we`d been out for and hour and a half. We headed back and reached home just before the rain came down. I felt great after the mini marathon and so it Jake. He wanted to go out into the garden but I gave him a biscuit and told him to rest his weary bones. He did just that and was asleep in minutes, snoring noisely...lol!

Later that afternoon we arrived at Kerry`s. Roman was on top form and happier than I`d seen him for a long time. He recently got over a bad bout of tonsilitis that left him whiny and miserable for a while but now my Little Man is himself again with his cheeky smile and boundless energy. He`s so funny because he keeps talking to his yet unborn brother or sister, starting each sentence with "hello baby, are you there?" lol! We had a lovely roast chicken dinner followed by an apple and blackcurrant crumble cake with icecream...very tasty indeed. Kerry is doing well and she`ll be having her next scan in about 2 weeks. She will then be told what sex the baby is if she wants to know. At the moment she says she would rather wait until the birth but I know my daughter and she WILL want to find out on the day of the scan, I guarantee it. I must admit I`m curious though I really don`t mind either way, a healthy baby grandchild is all that I want.

Today at work our manager decided that it`s time to play Christmas music in the shop. I was hoping that he`d wait until December so I`ll just have to put up with it...sigh. Mind you, I wouldn`t be surprised if I end up singing the songs in my sleep before the week is out...lol! We are seeling a lot of Christmas decorations now though, I suppose people see things they like and buy a few each week. I`ve got all the cards, wrapping paper, labels etc. that I need. All I have to do now is buy the rest of the presents to go with them. I think I`ll have finished my Christmas shopping very soon, I hate crowds so I need to get them out of the way before the month is out.

Because of the colder weather I`ve been putting extra bird feeders out. The goldfinches have come back in force and are eating as if they`ve never been fed before. I have a feeling that this winter is going to be colder than last year which will mean more birds plus more food. I invested in a bumper sized box that will hopefully keep me going for some months ahead, staff discount is very useful. I just hope the feathered creatures are grateful....lol!

Anyway my friends, I`m off to read some journals now. I hope you all have a nice evening, take care and Bye Bye for now. :o)

  1. Iam pleased to hear the little Lord is once more his delightful self ,I love to hear about his anics as you know ,much as I love Christmas songs I have to admitt it would gall abit all day and everyday lollove Jan xx

  2. I'm so glad you got to see your grandson and he was better.
The stores start playing Christmas music early here to and yes we're decorated for the season. They have to remind people to shop.
That's great about the bird feeders. I need to get me some because I get a lot of cardinals which I love to watch. The boys are just to funny. They love mirrors. Bigger the better. Now that would be a sight to capture on the camera to share.
Hope you have a great day.
    Take care, Chrissie

  3. Glad Roman is better. I found when we played Christmas music in the store where I worked too early by Christmas you were sick to death of it even though I love it at home it just starts to grind on you. We were in town yesterday and the shops are just end to end Christmas already. Love Joan

  4. I'm glad to know the lil g'son is doing better..sounds as if Jake had a wonderful time!
Christmas has been up in our store for a month, goblins, ghouls & Santa..too much!

  5. Wow, that was a long walk. Jake probably thought "this is great!" Thanks for mentioning the bird feeders. When we left on our road trip in September it was like summer but we came home last week to definite fall/winter weather. I'll get my feeders out today~ fill them & get them hung up. One of the Seattle radio stations played Christmas music all day on October 31st. I thought it was great. Linda in WA

  6. Your walk with Jake sounds wonderful. I could just picture him racing around and 'smiling'. Happy to hear Kerry's pregnancy is going well. Sounds like they are preparing Roman to be a loving big brother.
    Hugs, Kathy

  7. Hi Sandra, I think for the second child you're allowed to find out. I think it would be good for Roman as well. My son wanted a baby brother but we knwe it was a baby sister so we had time to "prepare" him! Noooo, the ghastly Xmas songs at the biginning of October. How can you resist? Get yourself some ear plugs...All the best. Ciao Antonella.

  8. That sounds like a long walk. I think christmas songs should be played on the week before christmas only! Louise xx

  9. What a walk!!! Awwww it would be good to know what the sex is. Then she can prepare! Christmas songs already!!! My joe hates that as he wants his birthday first - its on the 30th of this month. After that we can do Christmas. Laine xx

  10. Isn't it a great feeling to get all the gifts out of the way early? I hate the crowds, too, there is no Christmas cheer any more, it's all push and shove. Shame. ~~Kath~~

  11. It's good to hear that Roman is happier and talking to the baby. It sounds like he's coming around.

Yes, this election has been crazy this year. My phone has been ringing off the hook with recordings for each candidate. I'll be glad to see it over with and pray for a good leader.

One of our local radio stations is playing Christmas music 24/7 already. They get earlier each year. xx

  12. Good Morning!
Yes, it was very exciting here yesterday and busy for me! I volunteered and comapaigned for President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden so you can only imagine my joy! Still quick to tears this morning and tired. I've had about 2 hours sleep. Las Vegas is still celebrating. All races of God coming together in celebration :) That makes my heart sing.
So glad that Roman is doing better. He is so darn cute!
It is freezing here in Vegas today and yesterday. We are only suppose to reach about 58 today...WOW. Right now, it's only about 39. WOW, again.

    You take good care!

  13. Hi Sandra ,glad to hear Roman is back on form again bless him .
Pleased Kerry is keeping well and you all enjoyed your Sunday lunch .The birds have gone missing from our garden ???
    love Jeanxxx

  14. Oh Sandra I am glad your little man is better now ~ and back to his normal self ~ Hope Kerry is keeping fit and well ~ I would want to know the sex of the baby if I were her :o) but as you say a healthy baby is all you would care for be it a girl or boy ~ Ally x

  15. Delighted to hear Roman has warmed up to the prospect of a brother or sister. I thought I was imagining things when the decorations for Christmas went up in the stores, before Halloween even ended. I swear they start earlier and earlier every year. (Hugs)Indigo

  16. Glad Roman was back to his usual happy self! Eileen x

  19. I'm glad that Roman was better, tonsilitis isn't nice ~ I suffered all my childhood with it. Winter is definitely going to be colder this year.... it's like midwinter already!
